I'm Emily, but you may know me better as Twin Mummy.
This is my second blog. My first blog is Twin Mummy and Daddy.
I've been thinking for quite a while now about creating a second blog and have finally decided to take the plunge!
My first blog was started back in 2012 as a way of documenting my husband and I's IVF journey. Over the past two years it's grown beyond my expectations both in popularity and in readership. I mainly write about parenting, but more recently I've found myself wanting a space just for me. A place for me to write about me!
A bit self-indulgent I know, but blogging is like therapy to me and I guess this new blog, Mummy's Retreat, is my form of self-expression.
I'm hoping to write about things that I enjoy doing and inevitably this will cross over into my family life, but I'm planning on the focus of this blog to be all about me!
Selfish, maybe, but I guess it's kind of like a journey of self-discovery.
Trying to find myself and getting back a little bit of me time.
With this in mind I've set myself a few goals for the year ahead and this is the place where I hope to document my progress.
My goals are:
- Lose weight
- Lead a more active and healthy lifestyle
- Complete a first aid course
- Read one book a month
- Take part in Cancer Research's Race for life
- Learn to take better photographs
- Learn to speak Italian
- Spend more time outdoors with the kids
I'm sure I'll add more goals to my list over the coming months, but for now the ones listed above seem like a good place to start.
If you've visited my other blog you may have noticed that I post a lot! That isn't going to be the case with this blog. I'll still write and post about my progress, but I certainly won't be posting everyday on this blog.
I'll leave it there for now, but I do hope you'll enjoy reading what I write!
